Get the $10,000 Government building Boost
Everyone is eligible for the $10,000 Queensland Building Boost.
It applies to all Australian residents buying or building a new home/apartment to live in or as an investment.
However the Boost is for a limited time.
To ensure you qualify, you will need to note the following information.
Between 1 August 2011 and 31 January 2012, if you are a homebuyer, investor, corporation or trustee and you:
- a) Enter into a contract to purchase a new home/ apartment
- b) Enter into a comprehensive building contract to have a new home/apartment built
- c) Commence building a new home/ apartment as an owner builder
- d) The value of the property is less than $600,000 and will be occupied within 12 months of owning it (either owner occupied or tenanted)
- e) Off the plan building work must commence by 31 January 2013 and be completed by 31 January 2015
If you comply with the points made above and are an Australian resident, you are eligible for the $10,000 Queensland Building Boost Grant.

Your stamp duty paid

The First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) scheme was introduced on 1 July 2000 to offset the effect of the GST on home ownership. It was created to help you buy or build your first home. It is a national scheme funded by the states and territories and administered under their own legislation.
Under the scheme, a one-off grant of up to $7000 is payable to first home owners that satisfy all the eligibility criteria.
